Patagonia (Argentina)

The vast landscape with its granite peaks and lakes has one of the largest areas of ice outside the polar regions. Patagonia is also home to winds that blow across the steppe, a wild and at times desolate place at the southern end of the world.

Cerro Frías
No better place to see the land where steppe gives way to the Andes and you can see the peaks of Torres del Paine in neighbouring Chile.

Lago Argentino
Argentina's largest freshwater lake is home to glaciers and ice floes. The water is a grey blue due the mineral sediment caused by glacial erosion.

The three main accessible and spectacular glaciers in the southern part of Lago Argentino are Perito Moreno, Upsala and Spegazzini.
